Human Capital Table
s At the beginning of the school year, I created a Human Capital Table in an effort to learn more about the staff at Benson Elementary School. Collecting the information for this table allowed me to better understand the experiences and expertise of each certified and classified staff member. The staff at Benson Elementary consists of novice and veteran teachers from in and out of state. As a school leader, being aware of the diverse backgrounds and strengths of your employees allows you to be strategic in assigning them roles where their expertise will be leveraged to benefit both students and the total school environment.

Using Social Media to Create A Positive Public Image
One component of micro-political leadership involves controlling your school's story. As the Social Media Liaison for Benson Elementary, I made it a point to consistently highlight positive events happening within our school. At the beginning of the year, I conducted a public messaging audit and I noticed that Benson Elementary lacked a strong social media presence. As many stakeholders get their information from social media sources, I utilized both Facebook and Twitter to create a positive public image of our school.
